Can I upgrade the software for my LG Dare from the Myverizon.com website, and if so, how?

I went into the verizon store and the worker their didn't have the version 6 software, but he said you can get it by syncing your phone to your computer and getting it off the website, but i can't figure out how.|||i am a tech at verizon. from what i know you are not able to update the software at home for your phone. all stores should have the newest software for the dare. i know mine does. call customer service and ask them about another store maybe or call that store and ask to talk to a tech. questions? just ask!!
