Cell phone upgrade question?

ok so cell phone service i have is verizon and i really want to check when im eligible for an upgrade. sobcan some describe step by step how i would find that by using the MyVerizon?? if theres any other way that please tell me :)|||Count 20 months from when you signed your contract/got your phone. That's when you're eligible.
